ABOUT THE BAND

Brand New Trash are brothers Vince and Jimmy DeWald, raised in the railroad-track town of Mishawaka, Indiana, where they had no choice but to dream big and get weird. "We weren't part of the real scenes," Jimmy laughs, "so we just invented our own." After detours through San Francisco and Nashville, they now create a sound that's equal parts beauty, grit, and glorious imperfection.

Their new album, No Trash, No Beauty, is a crooked carnival of acoustic instruments, punk ethos, and sonic curveballs. One track might start like a barroom singalong, then spiral into a psychedelic violin solo; another feel like Dylan on too much espresso. "If there's a mistake," Jimmy insists, "you use it to make the art happen." Vince adds, "We're trying to reclaim acoustic music from sounding like Hallmark wallpaper."

Together, they embody a creative tension they jokingly call "the beauty and the trash"-Vince with melody and earnestness, Jimmy with edge and chaos. Picture Johnny Thunders crashing Neil Young's Harvest, or Hank Williams' ghost sneaking Beastie Boys records into a barn dance, and you're getting close.

At the end of the day, Brand New Trash isn't about genres or polish. It's about fun, honesty, and proving that imperfection is where the real magic hides.
